About the game
Nexus — Tower Defense is a classic maze tower defense with a silly alien theme. The Swarm of Cormack — an alien boss who learned our language from a microwave manual — pours out of the rifts and walks to the Portal. Commander Bastet, an Egyptian cat in a space helmet, takes the job very seriously: place towers on the board to build a long maze and stop the creatures before they get through. They always find a way, so you never close the path — you make it longer.
There are 6 towers with 6 levels each (Pin, Burst, Mortar, Wasp, Frost and Hammer), 7 castes of creatures plus bosses, 50 waves on Easy, Normal and Hard, and 7 worlds, each with its own floor and fixed obstacles. Gold only comes from kills. Rare crystals, won at the end of a match or bought with Zion coins, the site's virtual coins, buy mystic glyphs that mark the ground: Slowness, Haste, Wounds and Reach. Your best match goes to a weekly and an all-time ranking (ranking, crystals and glyphs need a Zion account).
How to play
- Pick a world and a difficulty, then tap Play.
- Choose a tower at the bottom and tap the board to build it. Towers block the way, so the creatures walk around them.
- Make the maze as long as you can: the path can never be closed completely.
- Tap a tower to upgrade or sell it. Kills pay gold; the next wave comes on its own, or call it early.
- Flyers go straight over the maze: Mortar and Hammer can't reach them, and Wasp hits only them.
